Redmi Note 3 vs Galaxy J7 (2016): Specifications

Both Xiaomi and Samsung handsets are rocking 5.5-inch screen but the Redmi Note 3 has better pixel resolutions (1080x1920) and higher pixel density (403ppi) than the Galaxy J7 with its 720x1280 pixels resolution at 267 ppi. Packing a Super AMOLED screen, Galaxy J7 delivers bright and vivid screen display but Xiaomi's better resolution makes it no far behind than Samsung's flagship.

Redmi Note 3 is powered by Snapdragon 630 (Android Lollipop) while Galaxy J7 sports Snapdragon 617 (Android Marshmallow). Xiaomi gives two options for Redmi Note 3 potential users as the Standard version boasts 16GB and 2GB RAM, while the high-end version sports 32GB backed by 3GB RAM. Samsung's flagship, on the other hand, is shipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage.

The GPU test shows that Redmi Note 3 can open the apps faster than Galaxy J7 2016. Samsung's handset is not far behind but there is a considerable delay time when compared to Redmi Note 3's fast performance. AnTuTu benchmark results show that Redmi Note 3 is ranked higher than Galaxy S7 Edge, TelcomTalk reported.

Redmi Note 3 packs 4050 mAh capacity while Galaxy J7 2017 has lower battery capacity of 3,300 mAh.

Samsung equips the 2016 edition of Galaxy J7 with 13MP rear camera (autofocus, LED Flash, HDR mode) and 5MP front-facing camera with LED Flash. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pairs 16MP (dual Flash, PDA) and 5 MP cameras, GSM Arena reported.

When it comes to lowlight photography, Galaxy J7 is a clear winner as it captures better details. However, when taken under the sunlight, Redmi Note 3 displays more accurate color productions as it shows more vivid image. When it comes to focusing to an object, Galaxy J7 seems to be faster. When compared the two phones camera, Galaxy J7 (2016) offers better optics quality.
