Both phones run Android Marshmallow but Galaxy A5 users have to upgrade from Lollipop.

The main drawback of Galaxy A5 (2016) is the lower battery capacity, 2,900 mAH. Galaxy J7 (2016) packs 3,300 mAh battery but there is no fast-charging feature for the phone.
