By"Star Trek: Discovery" is an upcoming show slated for airing next year. The show's plot and storylines have yet to be revealed but the announced characters which includes a female lead and openly gay character, can give some hints about it.
Who Are The Characters In "Star Trek: Discovery"?
The lead character in the upcoming "Star Trek: Discovery" show will not be the ship captain. Instead, the protagonist will be a female, who serves as the ship's lieutenant commander. Two admirals, a male and female will also join the show. Other characters include an openly gay character, a British male doctor and Klingon Captain, according to THR.
Possible Plots and Storyline
"Star Trek: Discovery" is set in a time line 10 years before the first "Star Trek" original series started. There have been speculations that Discovery is a joint Federation and Klingon operation. However, it is quite well known that Klingons and the Federation never got along. The peace treaty the two signed did not last long and they were soon at each other throat at "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". Discovery is set to explore the galaxy, find and make contacts with Alien civilizations
It is also possible that the Klingon Captain will not be at the helm of the Discovery but has a ship of his own. The show's producers did not mention any specifics about the gay character. It's possible that we may see an openly gay Federation Admiral in the upcoming show. This quite possible since the former executive producer confirmed that the gay character will be feature prominently in the upcoming show.
