"Alien: Covenant" is an upcoming movie that will feature an alien menace, the Neomorphs. Michael Fassbender accidentally let it slip during a radio interview.

Michael Fassbender Interview Slip

Fassbender played the role of David, a sophisticated robot in "Prometheus," and he will again assume the same role in the second installment "Alien: Covenant." During a BBC radio interview, Fassbender referred to the new Alien race as "Neomorphs," according to avpgalaxy.

The name has been kept under wraps while the sequel is under production. The generic name given is Xenomorphs; however, during the interview, Fassbender accidentally blurted out the word while describing a scene with his co-actor.

"Alien: Covenant" Spoiler Alert

A number of "Alien: Covenant" spoilers have been released online recently. The second installment took place a decade after the ill-fated Prometheus mission. This time the Covenant crew will encounter strange looking spores upon landing on an alien planet. The crew were unaware that they have been infected until it was too late.

One of the "Neomorphs" came out from the back of an unlucky human while the other one came out of his throat. Once they burst out of the hosts, they can only walk in all fours, using all of their limbs since they are still immature. However, they rapidly grow into adulthood and start walking on two legs. One noticeable feature of the "Neomorphs" is their tails. This should be explained in the upcoming movie since the aliens shown in "Prometheus" did not have any tails.

Aside from David and the Neomorphs, other characters such as the Engineers will also return in the second installment of this "Alien" prequel. The Covenant crew will also encounter David upon their landing on the alien planet.

"Alien: Covenant" Release Date

"Alien: Covenant" movie is directed by Ridley Scott and scheduled for release in movie houses worldwide on August 4, 2017. The movie will feature a lot of effects and more likely have a Restricted (R) rating.
