The SmackDown roster delivered yet another sterling PPV (pay-per-view) Sunday night, with Dolph Ziggler saving his career and winning the Intercontinental Championship, and AJ Styles controversially managing to retain his World title. Here are the full results from WWE No Mercy 2016.
Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan kick started the show by informing Alexa Bliss that Becky would not be in a position to step inside the four sided ring with her. Bliss' title match against Lynch was pushed back to Nov. 8 on SmackDown.
American Alpha & The Hype Bros vs. The Vaudevillains & The Ascension
The team of American Alpha and The Hype Bros defeated The Vaudevillains and The Ascension.
AJ Styles vs. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose (Triple Threat Match)
This was perhaps the most anticipated match of the event. AJ Styles tapped out to a double submission from Cena and "The Lunatic Fringe"; however, in the absence of a clear winner, the referee ordered the match to begin again. Cena managed to hit an Attitude Adjustment on Ambrose, but Styles hit Cena with a chair shot and pinned the 'Doctor of Thuganomics," FOX Sports reported.
Results for other matches were as follows:
Nikki Bella defeats Carmella
Rhyno and Heath Slater defeat The Usos
Baron Corbin defeats Jack Swagger
Dolph Ziggler defeats The Miz
Naomi defeats Alexa Bliss
Bray Wyatt defeats Randy Orton
In other news, the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. has suspended Paige for 60 days.
This marks the two-time Divas Champion's second Wellness suspension this year, following her 30 days suspension back in August. Paige was suspended back then for violating the company's Talent Wellness Program. The suspension was announced early Monday via WWE's official website as well as the company's official Twitter page.
Paige responded with a rather caustic tweet following her suspension announcement. Paige claimed that she provided a prescription for the substance she apparently tested positive for. She sent out another tweet shortly thereafter, indicating that the Wellness policy does not apply to everyone on the roster.
