'GTA 6' Release Date Continues To Remain Unconfirmed; Update 1.36 For 'GTA 5' Released [VIDEO]
ByRockstar Games released "GTA 5" back in 2013, and avid "GTA" fans have since been waiting with bated breath for the game developer to shed more light on "GTA 6," the next installment in the hit action-adventure video game series.
Much to the chagrin of "GTA's" huge fanbase, Rockstar continues to remain tight lipped about "GTA 6," and have refrained from divulging any sort of info outside of additional DLC for the current "GTA 5" and its popular "GTA Online" mode. According to an industry analyst, this is because "GTA 5" is still a huge success and is making lot of money, Attack of the Fanboy reported.
Well, that actually seems to make sense and gamers were sort of already in the know citing the fact that the game grabs a spot in the top ten sales in the US and several other territories on a regular basis. That being said, it won't be surprising if the game studio is not even in the planning stages of the highly anticipated "GTA 6."
Daniel Ahmed, a market analyst for video games, took to his Twitter handle (@ZhugeEX) on Tuesday, October 4 to post an image showing the Net Revenue generated by "GTA" products. Ahmed stated in his tweet that Rockstar acquired over a whopping $700 million in the last 12 months on their products.
If the good sale outcome of Rockstar is anything to go by, the studio could obviously be focusing more on enhancing their current roster of "GTA" games rather than starting development on a new one.
The lack of development for a sequel has compelled lots of "GTA" fans to search the internet thoroughly for any sort of update about a possible "GTA 6." Meanwhile, rumor mills have been swirling speculations centering on the much awaited game. One of the rumor that's doing rounds online is that Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling is likely to feature in the next installment.
There's hearsay that Gosling might lend his voice for a specific character in the purported sequel. Moreover, Eva Mendes, Gosling's real life partner, might also be in the upcoming game, if the rumors proved to be true. This rumor revolving around Mendes' appearance in the game stems from the fact that one of developers from Rockstar allegedly showed interest in featuring a female protagonist in the game.
While these are mere speculations, Mirror Online shared an official fiscal report from Rockstar's parent publisher, Take-Two Interactive, which indicated that a slew of other exciting games are indeed in the offing; however, the report does not specifically mention whether or not "Grand Theft Auto 6" is in any process of development.
