iPad Pro 2 Release Date, Specs & Rumors: Apple Could Debut A 7.9-Inch Model To Its iPad Pro Lineup; See Launch Date! [VIDEO]
ByGadget freaks, rejoice! The production for the iPad Pro 2 will start during the fourth quarter of this year and the tablet will be launched sometime in March 2017 in three different sizes.
The recently concluded iPhone 7 launch event disappointed many Apple fans who have been waiting with bated breath for the company to shed more light on its next high-performance tablet, the iPad Pro 2, but there was no mention of the device during the event. Nevertheless, rumor mills continue to swirl speculations around the highly anticipated device hinting that the gadget is likely to be unveiled in near future, Headlines & Global News reported.
Meanwhile, let's take a look at the specs, features and other details for the impending iPad Pro 2.
iPad Pro 2 Specs & Features
Rumors are running rampant hinting that the iPad Pro 2's features will be identical to some of the changes made with the recently launched iPhone 7's design. Aside from sporting a much slimmer design, the device is expected to be faster, lighter and even water-resistant. Moreover, it is likely to come with a smoother navigation system coupled with easy zooming, scrolling and panning. There's hearsay that Apple will get rid of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favor of the recently launched wireless AirPods.
iPad Pro 2 - Under The Hood
The iPad Pro 2 is said to boast an array of awe-inspiring specs under the hood. The entry model will run on an A9X processor coupled with 16GB of internal storage capacity. The two top-tier variants, on the other hand, are likely to be powered by the company's latest A10X processor paired with 4GB of RAM (random access memory) and iOS 10 as the operating system.
As far as cameras are concerned, they are likely to mirror the current iPad Pro 9.7's specifications with a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP front snapper.
iPad Pro 2 - Three Different Variants
Presumably, to appeal to all buyers with different lifestyles, the next high-performance tablet will come in three variants - a 10.5-inch, and a robust 12.9-inch alongside a smaller 7.9-inch iPad Pro inspired by the iPad Mini 4, according to reports on Mac Otakara.
The report surfaces a couple of months after acclaimed KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted a 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch successor to the iPad Pro, but teased an economical 9.7-inch iPad instead of the 7.9-inch Pro that Mac Otakara's report mentioned.
More Sizes, More Features
The iPad Pro is currently available in 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch sizes. Now, both KGI and Mac Otakara seems to agree that the imminent 10.5-inch tablet will oust the smaller variant of the Pros and the purported third iPad is expected to be a lower-end model that consumers can get their hands on without burning a hole in their pockets.
Meanwhile, current iPad users are advised not throw away their old 3.5mm earbuds yet as contrary to previous reports, Mac Otakara believes the headphone jack will retain its spot in the design of the new line of iPads that are slated to hit the store shelves this coming spring.
