iPad Mini 5 Release Date, Specs & UK Price Rumors: The Newest Iteration Of The iPad Mini Arriving This October?
ByThe recently concluded iPhone 7 launch event didn't quite turn out to be what avid Apple fans were hoping for as the Cupertino-based tech firm only unveiled a handful of their top-notch devices including the aforesaid new iPhone and Apple Watch 2, but remained mum about other equally anticipated devices including the newest iteration of the iPad Mini.
While Apple continues to keep its other product lines under wraps, some optimistic tech gurus hazard a guess that the much lauded iPad Mini 5 will be announced alongside a slew of other devices sometime this October.
Moreover, rampant rumors hint that the latest iteration of the iPad Mini is likely to be presented next month and hit the store shelves early 2017. Aside from the speculated launch date, it is also expected that the device will come with an array of awe-inspiring features; however, not everyone seems to reckon on this shot in the dark.
Recently surfaced rumors indicate that the iPad Mini 5 will oust the headphone hub following in the footsteps of the premium device maker, Apple. Furthermore, it is said to come with the company's latest operating system for their mobile device dubbed iOS 10, according to VineReport.
The new iPad Mini 5 is expected to boast a 5mm profile as opposed to its current render that is 1.1mm thicker. In terms of camera, it is likely to come with an 8MP primary and 1.2MP front cameras, coupled with 3GB of RAM with varying sizes of storage specs. Rumors are rife about Apple getting rid of the 16GB variant of the slab and starting off with a 32GB make instead.
In related news, we delve into the new iPad Mini's cost in the UK.
Apple released the iPad Mini 4 on September 9 last year at $399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model. The 16GB and 128GB variants were £399 (about $519) and £479 (about $623) respectively with cellular connectivity further adding another £100 (about $130) in addition to the listed price. The new Mini 5 is likely to hit the market shelves at the same price point, according to MacWorld.
Meanwhile, the base model of iPad Mini will be up for grabs for £319 (about $415).
It is important to bear in mind that these are mere speculations and until Apple either confirms or debunks them, readers should take them with a grain of salt.
