Expert Says Samsung Sacrifices Quality Checks Just to Get Ahead Apple iPhone 7 and ‘iPhone 7 Plus’ Launching
BySamsung's desire to have a thinner phone with better battery is beyond questionable. However, rushing for faster release dates because of fear of Apple iPhone 7 and "iPhone 7 Plus" is totally NOT an excusable reason. Experts revealed the culprit behind Samsung's faulty battery issues and it has not something to do with poor or unsafe design.
Calling it Samsung's worst Galaxy scandal in history, an ABC News report said that Samsung had sacrifice quality checks and rushed for faster release dates just to get one month ahead from "iPhone 7 Plus" and iPhone 7 launching. An industry analyst at IHS Market Technology Wayne Lam said that faulty batter issue is a result of weak manufacturing controls and is not related with poor or unsafe design.
This statement was further supported by Doh Chil-Hoon from Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute. As the head of battery research division, Doh said that aside from pushing to increase battery power, the incident can be accounted from lack of manufacturing safety control. He emphasized the importance of elements of safety in to rebut small manufacturing mistake.
In the same report from BGR publication, it pointed out how the fear of the "iPhone 7 Plus" and iPhone 7 led Samsung to the path of destruction. The report emphasized that "Samsung is still very afraid of Apple."
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debuted in August and was well-received by the consumers due to its new software features and long battery life. However, in September 2, Samsung announces recall for 2016 phablet flagship after incidences of battery explosions have been reported around the globe. Samsung immediately gets on with its feet to provide full refund or replacement of units until September 21. A software update has also been provided where consumers have to download to help minimize overheating risks through capping battery recharging at 60 percent.
Amidst Samsung tragedy, Apple "iPhone 7 Plus" and iPhone 7 sales are like rockets where supplies are not enough to accommodate the design. LGV20 is also deemed as a possible benefactor from Samsung's downtime because of its replaceable battery with 3,200 mAh capacity.
