PC players will be delighted to know that they can upgrade their copies of the first-person shooter video game series "BioShock" and "BioShock 2." in doing so, players may need to go through around their old PC disc cases.

Players who had the video game series on Steam already will automatically grab the upgrade. But, copies of the video game purchased physically or thru Games for Windows Live will need to be redeemed on Steam manually.

For "BioShock 1," which was released in 2007, will require players to send their proof of purchase of the original game to 2K support, they can do it physically or digitally. In spite of that, it is not clear what this will entail if an owner's copy of the video game is so old, that it didn't come with a free CD key.

While for "BioShock 2," PC players will need the Games for Windows Live key that came with the game, based on the report of Euro Gamer.

Game critics expressed their warm admiration for the first-person shooter video game "BioShock" for its rich, open-ended storyline as well as the game's very interesting gameplay and combat system.

The video game almost got a perfect score from game reviews and received several Game of the Year awards from different media outlets. After "BioShock" gained its fame and gathered millions from its sales, video game publisher 2K Games unleashed its first sequel in 2010 and the second sequel fired up in 2013, according to Parent Herald.

However, "BioShock: The Collection" goes live on September 13 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the remastered games on Windows PC won't be available until September 15, Steam reported.

The recommended specs to play the first-person shooter video game series includes a Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit, 3GHz Quad-Core Processor, 8 gigabyte of Memory, and 2 gigabyte of Video Card.
