Following the launch of Redmi Note 4 in China last month, it looks like Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil the Redmi 4.

Xiaomi finally took the wraps off its latest installment of the Redmi Note series in August; however, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer remained tight-lipped about its equally-anticipated Redmi 4, NeuroGadget reported.

According to the launch reports, the Redmi 4 is slated to hit the store shelves in two variants, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage, the other with 3GB of RAM and a 64GB storage capacity, which would be further expandable via microSD cards. Both variants are up for grabs in gold, silver and gray.

Xiaomi Note 4 Specs & Features

The Xiaomi Note 4 will reportedly boast full HD (high-definition) display with 1,080 x 1,920-pixel resolution on a mammoth 5.5-inch screen. It packs a 2.1 GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor.

The primary camera is said to feature a dual-LED flash coupled with phase detection autofocus with 13MP. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Note 4 will come with face detection functionalities, geo-tagging, panorama, and HDR (high dynamic range). The device will sport a 5MP secondary camera.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Specs, Features & Release Date

The Redmi 4 is expected to bring in an array of awe-inspiring features. Though the makers of the device did not divulge too many details about the handset, leaked images of the smartphone hinted a metal body, according to The Times of India.

Aside from shedding more light on the purported handset's design, the report indicated that the Redmi 4 will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor. If rumors proved to be true, it will be slightly smaller than Redmi Note 4 as it will come with a 5-inch full HD display.

However, the device will not come with Google's latest Android OS i.e. Android 7.0 Nougat, but will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on MIUI 8 custom UI (user interface) of Xiaomi instead.

Xiaomi has opted to remain mum regarding the Redmi 4's release date. Stay tune for more updates.
