Following the huge success of Redmi Note 3, it looks like Xiaomi is all set to take the wraps off the highly-anticipated Redmi Note 4.
Cited as one of China's most hyped smartphone makers, Xiaomi will reportedly hold a launch event on Thursday, August 25. If recent reports are anything to go by, the regulatory body from China, TENAA has given a couple of Xiaomi devices with model numbers, 2016050 and 2016060, its stamp of approval. Rumors are rife that these model numbers belong to Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4, TimesNews reported (citing details from Weibo).
Both, or at least one of the two smartphones is likely to be unveiled on August 25.
A Chinese teaser of the upcoming launch event when translated in English reads "National full metal age."
This could allude to a full metallic chassis the purported device is likely to sport. Besides, a leaked photo of the Redmi Note 4 box also rubber stamped the device's rumored specifications.
On further inspecting the leaked box image, it is evident that the Xiaomi Redmi 4 will sport a 5.5-inch display and will pack the 2GHz MediTek Helio X20 deca-core processor - that is also listed on TENAA for the device with model number MI 2016050 - confirming beyond doubt that it is indeed the Redmi Note 4 device. Furthermore, the leaked box image confirms a robust 4,100 mAh battery.
The much-lauded smartphone will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI and sports a 12 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front snapper for the selfie addicts.
The leaked images also hints 3 GB of RAM, coupled with a mammoth 64 GB of inbuilt storage option for Note 4; while there will be 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage option confirmed by TENAA listing. In terms of connectivity, the device comes with 4G, 3G, 2G connectivity options.
Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to announce the Redmi 4 smartphone along with Xiaomi Smartwatch on August 25. The purported smartwatch is expected to boast a round display and physical buttons.
Although Xiaomi sells a slew of devices such as headphones and power banks in the U.S., the company has surprisingly refrained from launching its mainstream devices in the country; however things are likely to change as Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra recently confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that it will officially roll out a device in the U.S. in October.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 - Design
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 mirrors the design of the Redmi Note 3 rather than the current Redmi 3 models (including the 3s and 3 Pro). The camera is placed on the back of the metal body right on the center, and just above the fingerprint reader, GSM Arena reported.
The front of the device, however does not seem to have undergone major cosmetic overhaul.
