A weekend poll was conducted by Android Police regarding the likelihood of individuals to go for Samsung smartphones after the Galaxy Note 7 recall. As of this writing, there are 4,975 answers accumulated. 40 percent of them said that the recall did not take its toll to the trust and perception they had for Samsung brand while 38 percent said that they have trusted Samsung more for their ability in addressing the issue as soon as possible. There are 13 percent who said that they are slowly losing their trust for the brand and 10 percent whose trust for the brand has greatly diminished. For general information, Forbes reported about the cause of battery failure. According to the report, Samsung conducted an investigation and found out that battery cells had issues. Out of 2.5 million phones being sold, 35 battery failures related cases have been reported to them considering it far from common. This was supported by a chemical engineer from the University College London Donal Finegan who in a statement said that battery failures are definitely rare and he also emphasized how rare faults like that affect the reputation of the product through media attention it gathered.
