Microsoft made it known to the public that a major update is coming to the sandbox video game "Minecraft" on Windows 10. The tech company dubbed the upgrade as the Boss Update, which will introduce boss battles on both devices of Windows 10 and the Pocket Edition for Windows Phone.

Microsoft stated that survival players of "Minecraft" would definitely be delighted with the Boss Update. As the "Minecraft" update will introduce Ocean Monuments, in which players will enjoy making adventures in the new, rare locations with friends beneath the sea.

Part of the "Minecraft" update are Elder Guardian and Wither. Where in Elder Guardian, gamers will fight through the Elder Guardian boss along with its squad of Guardian sea creatures, according to MS Power User.

Microsoft is also introducing the Wither boss battle to the video game on mobile and Windows 10 with the Boss Update. The Wither boss is a powerful, three-headed mob who is always up to bad things. A gamer can summon and conquer this mob in order to collect the ultra-rare nether star item that the Wither boss drops.

The Boss Update will be up for grabs this fall for Windows 10, Pocket Edition and Gear VR. The "Minecraft" team is also pitching in some additional news for the Boss Update. But, they're saving the information for the upcoming Minecon 2016, which will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center on September 24 and 25 in California, Windows Central reported.

Anyway, the sandbox video game is an ever-evolving project and joins the first-person shooter video game "Halo" and the action packed "Gears of War" as one of the tech company's biggest game franchises.

Eventually, all versions across Xbox, as well as mobile devices and PC, will unite with one another. In which it allows players to link to the dedicated, shared worlds in the Microsoft Cloud.
