Apple Maps app users, through a partnership with the parking service company Parkopedia, now have access to a more detailed parking information. The recent announcement was made by the official global launch of the collaboration of the two companies. Users can have a direct access to Parkopedia parking information services.

Apple Maps app's integration with Parkopedia database has a good number of improvements which include more than 40 million parking spots across several continents such as North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, Imore reported. Though the partnership between Apple and Parkopedia was just recently announced, the latter has already provided its services to Apple Maps app since last March in the United States.

Apple Maps app will now have several features from Parkopedia such as the ability to search for the location, mode of payment, available space of parking spots in the area they want to search. More features will be added in the future updates such as the option to filter search results to match the user's preference.

Another convenient service is that users will be able to reserve a parking slot by following a link within the Apple Maps app. However, this process will open up the Parkopedia website or the company's iOS app so the users can complete the payment process, 9to5Mac reported.

Parkopedia is also excited about this partnership because more users will benefit from their services. Parkopedia Head of Marketing, Christina Onesirosan Martinez said that the collaboration with Apple Maps app is a very important milestone for Parkopedia. Their combined footprint in the consumer and automotive space is huge and this opens the doors to delivering a world of innovative solutions.

This recent integration of Parkopedia services to Apple Maps app will also help Apple better compete in the GPS market.

Apple Maps app is continuously being updated to improve its navigation and search abilities. In the coming iOS 10, new features will be added such a reminder to users where they left their car.
