The larger handset of Samsung Galaxy J series received some improvements. Albeit no major changes, the revamped version does perform better. The 2016 edition of Galaxy J7 gets several upgrades and here's the review!
Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 Specs
The 2016 Galaxy J7 is a 5.5-inch smartphone (151.7 x 76 x 7.8 mm) with Super AMOLED screen and 720 x 1280 pixels resolution (267 ppi pixel density). You can expect a crisp display from these specs.
As always, Samsung smartphones have that premium feel when you hold them. Galaxy J7 is slim and sleek.
The handset reportedly received an upgrade in term of resolution as its predecessor only boast 720p. J7 is equipped with 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera; both with LED Flash, GSM Arena reported. Samsung flagship captures great quality image
Under the screen, the J7 runs Android Marshmallow with 1.6 GHz octa-core processor with bigger RAM of 2GB and 16 GB internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB with MicroSD card). Other components include dual SIM card slots, 3G and 4G support and Bluetooth 4.1. Samsung Galaxy J7 is available in three colors: white, gold and pink.
2 GB of RAM is considered small in this 3GB RAM era and the lack of fingerprint sensor makes the J7 one-small step behind its competition. And since this is Samsung's budget smartphone, you can't expect to use it with VR headset. It's got no Gyroscope.
Samsung packs Galaxy J7 with removable 3,300 mAh battery. Another demerit would be the absence of fast-charging feature which would be very useful in today's hurried lifestyle.
These 2016 edition is something that Samsung Galaxy fans have anticipated in its original version but apparently the Korean smartphone maker didn't bother to include some key features that's supposed to be there.
Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 price
