The USA Volleyball team will be playing their first match against team Canada with four returning Olympians in their 12-man roster.

Out of 12 athletes in the USA volleyball team, four have already been in the Olympics with. Out of the four, two are gold medalists. The eight other athletes are newcomers to the Olympics, according to a statement released by Team USA.

Reidd Priddy, outside hitter, will be returning for the fourth time in the Olympics. He was fourth among the all scorers in the 2008 Olympic Games with 112 points, 93 of which are kills and nine are aces. He got 10 blocks wich helped the USA team win the gold medal. In 2007, he won a bronze medal and a silver in 2012. He is just bouncing back from an ACL injury during the 2014 FIVB World League Tournament.

Matt Anderson joined the US men's volleyball team in June 2009. He played his first match in the London Olympics and he was the youngest in the team at that time. Also, Anderson played internationally and had already played in Russia, Korea, and Italy.

Two-time Olympian, David Lee, will also be back in the team he won a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He served as team captain in the USA men's volleyball team during the 2016 FIVB World Cup and won. In 2008 and 2014, Lee won gold medals at the FIVB World League and was also named Best Blocker at the 2014 FIVB World League.

David Smith, a member of the 2012 Olympic Team, also helped in winning the 2016 FIVB World Cup. He also helped the UC Irvine win its first NCAA National Championship. He was named AVCA first-team All-American, All-MPSF, and NCAA All-Tournament in 2007.

The other members will be having their debut at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The brothers, Kawika and Erik Shoji will be having their first Olympic Game with Aaron Russell, Taylor Sander, Murphy Troy, Thomas Jaeschke, Micah Christenson, and Max Holt, NBC reported.

The team will be having their first match on August 7. Team USA will face Canada for their first match.
