RazerGo: 'Pokémon Go' Chat Application Launched By Razer; iOS And Android Versions Coming Soon!
ByManufacturer of gaming hardware, Razer, Launched a chat app for the famous game, "Pokémon Go".
Razer has launched an online chat application for "Pokémon Go" players and they called it, RazerGo. The previous launch was a web service. For iOS and Android, Razer will launch the app on July 25. The application, RazerGo, is aware of the user's location. Users of this app will be able to talk to other players nearby. Players can set the radius to 3 miles, 60 miles, or even 600 miles. This application is most useful at close range, though. The app also features a public chat, a team chat where players of the same team can talk, and a private chat. The hardware company is also planning to add a 'Beacon' feature where users will be able to drop a beacon in order to open a chat room that would only be available to people near them, The Verge reported.
"Pokémon Go" lacks one thing that is very important to all social games: communication tools.
Razer is not the first on the chat add-on for "Pokémon Go". A week before, a chat app called GoChat became popular. However, its developer, Jonathan Zarra had trouble making money from the app and that his team cannot support the service.
Razer, on the other hand, already has a set up chat software making it less risky in terms of investment. The RazerGo promises well but other chat did not go well. Chat systems for other multiplayer games such as "Hearthstone" and "Splatoon" have been dropped due to harassment and useless noise. "Pokémon Go", however has a friendlier environment.
Also, Razer is hosted 'pokécrawls' near its brick-and-mortar stores in San Francisco. The company will be dropping Pokémon lures along the way. The exact locations are announced on the company's Twitter and Facebook.
RazerGo would be more like GoChat.
