The demo video of "Resident Evil 7" which debuted at Sony's E3 press conference two weeks ago, still have some unsolved mysteries - which involves the ghost girl, dummy finger and the axe.
The official demo of Capcom's video game was packed with references to the supernatural, which leads fans of the "Resident Evil" series to believe that the full game would emphasize the fundamentals of a ghost story.
The Japanese game developer Kōshi Nakanishi stated in the Capcom Unity blog post that he thinks when people look at the "Resident Evil 7" trailer, they will get a ghost story impression. But, Nakanishi said that fans of the series need not to worry as they did not throw out "Resident Evil" and turned it into a ghost story - the video game will make sense in the end, IGN reported.
As Nakanishi previously stated to IGN this month, that the teaser demo will serve as a tonal preview and be an indication of experience that the demo is not just a piece of gameplay taken from the main game.
Nakanishi further explained that in the 20 year history of "Resident Evil," people knew about the key pillars of the video game which is - puzzle-solving elements, exploration of the environment, resource management, combat against enemies and of course - fear and horror. But, Nakanishi said that they wanted to kick off with the first two - horror and exploration.
"Resident Evil VII" demo trailer's most notorious unsolved mystery is the dummy finger. After the demo was unleashed at the Sony's E3 2016 press conference, people need to discover the use of the dummy finger, Game Rant reported.
Some suggested that the dummy finger is some sort of a key, while others speculated that it will play a role in the full game. But, that seems doubtful, as the Beginning Hour demo showed that it won't be in the full game.
However, "Resident Evil 7's" new demo Beginning Hour is on the edge of returning the horror franchise back to something mysterious and terrifying, Kotaku reported.
