Samsung Upcoming Mobiles: A Buggati Veyron-Inspired Clamshell Smartphone Is In The Works?
ByRumors doing rounds hint an outstanding clamshell phone, codenamed as "Veyron" is in the works at Samsung.
People seldom come across someone still using a clamshell phone these days, and that's partly because the smartphone space is dominated with some top-notch handsets that sport mammoth screens coupled with quality display technology. However, Samsung has not ceased rolling out clamshell phones, but that's hardly surprising taking into consideration that the South Korean tech firm is not afraid to test the waters of market. That probably explain rumours hinting that Samsung is prepping for the debut of yet another clamshell smartphone dubbed, Veyron.
Just last year, Samsung unveiled the SM-W2016, which was considerably well-received by smartphone users. If speculations swirled by rumour mills are anything to go by, Samsung is on the verge of debuting another clamshell phone this year - with model number SM-W2017.
Despite the limited information available about the purported device, speculations are rampant hinting that the smartphone will first make its appearance in China this year. Samrtphone users will need to wait and watch if Samsung considers a western launching of the rumoured Veyron, SamMobile reported.
Veyron will reportedly boast the same cosmetic appearance as its 2015 predecessor, but will pack a slew of overhauled features and specs.
The previous foldable smartphone sported a two 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display - one in the inside and one in the outside. Both screens boast 1280 x 768 pixels resolutions and are powered by Samsung's Exynos 7420 chipset. The smartphone comes with 3 GB of RAM, coupled with 64 GB internal storage capacity. The foldable smartphone packs a 2,000 mAh battery, ChristianTimes reported.
The upcoming device could mirror the glass and metal build of the Galaxy S7, but there is no guarantee it would also be water- and dust-resistant.
Samsung has not yet confirmed the rumours and remained mum about the purported Veyron smartphone, which imply these rumours should be taken with a grain of salt.
The name Veyron is influenced by the iconic sports car, Bugatti Veyron.
