‘MacBook Pro’ 2016 Specs, Features, Rumors: Apple's 13-Inch Retina ‘MacBook Pro’ To Launch In Q3; To Axe MacBook Air?
ByNews is heating for the upcoming release of 13-inch Retina "MacBook Pro" during the Q3 2016. The rumors come from Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-trusted KGI Securities analyst, which provided exactly right information numerous times in the past.
Kuo has provided information to one Apple Insider wherein the analyst predicts that the forthcoming 13-inch MacBook might replace the MacBook Air. Kuo added that the new MacBook Pro is set to launch in Q3 and could potentially join the existing 12-inch Retina MacBook to the 2016 lineup, Tech Times reported.
However, according to Tech Times, Kuo suggests that Apple could have been looking at a larger scale and envisions its 2016 lineups in the longer run. These probabilities hint that the MacBook Air series will no longer advance to pave a way for MacPro launch. So, instead of upgrading them to a Retina display "resolutionary" and Force Touch trackpads, MacBook Air models are likely to be idle with no upgrade in store.
If these rumors turn out accurate, Apple might re-market MacBook Air into a thin and light but entry-level offering. Considering Apple's scheme in the past with its plastic MacBook, this theory is not too far-fetched.
Furthermore, the analyst expects major changes in the MacBook Pro lineup. These iterations must beef up Touch ID fingerprint technology for extra security, USB Type-C, an OLED display touch bar, a Thunderbolt 3 port and more exciting features. Then, new MacBook Pro models must arrive sometime during fourth quarter 2016, Tech Times said.
Goodbye MacBook Air Series?
If MacBook Pro will be on top of the Apple's ecosystem, the MacBook will take over the middle ground while the MacBook Air slide back to entry-level. Meaning, the MacBook Air will probably become the budget option. The MacBook will hold grounds on portability while the MacBook Pro will potentially top the sales performance. Thus, a three-tier structure will be created for customers to make their choices easier.
By the end of the day, none of these is either official or confirmed, so let us keep our hopes high that Kuo insiders are still accurate this time. Have you heard any update regarding the rumors? Share it at the comment box below!
