In an interview with Variety, Boyega talked about the reported developing affair between his character as Rey with Finn in "The Force Awakens" and answered the queries about how it will continue to evolve in the next film installment. According to the actor, there was no romance established in the seventh installment as it was never intended to be that way, Movie News Guide reported.
As explained by Boyega, Finn and Rey are only friends, saying that Finn is actually a storm trooper, which means he is not really aware of what is going on. However, he noted that the idea of a romance is something that could be very interesting to follow in the next "Star Wars" installment. Although he pointed out that it may not turn out to be the way some people are expecting to happen, Melty reported.
Boyega also said that it was also great to be working with Rian Johnson after having the opportunity of working with J.J. Abrams. Although for him, it is a different thing, because nothing seems to get bigger than the "Force Awakens". He further noted that his skin color gets darker due to exposure to the heat.
Boyega also confirmed about a play that he will begin doing in January, the German play "Woyzeck" at the Old Vic. According to the actor, he finds it strange to return to the theater, noting some mystery surrounding it, yet emphasized that it is an interesting opinion about the play. He further revealed doing a shot on "The Circle" alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Watson while he was shooting the films instalments 7 and 8.
