Google Android N Debuts In September; Leading Smartphone Makers In Line To Receive The Update!
ByAndroid users rejoice! The much-awaited Android N will be released in September this year.
Several users who have been testing the upcoming Android mobile operating system on various devices in its beta phase are reportedly happy. The search engine giant, Google published a schedule for the beta preview and the final build launch.
May: Android N developer preview 3 (beta)
June: Android N developer preview 4 (SDK and APIs)
July: Android N developer preview 5 (near-final build)
August - September: Final Android 7.0 AOSP build
The program dubbed "Android N Developer Preview," gives users everything they need to test as well as optimize their apps for the upcoming Android N.
If reports doing rounds are anything to go by, the much-awaited Android N operating system will first land on Nexus devices.
Android N for HTC, LG, Huawei, BlackBerry and Samsung
Citing that the HTC One M9 received the Android M (Marshmallow) update in December last year, they are speculations that hint HTC 10 will receive Android N update in December this year.
LG has been very fast when it comes to updates. The Korean electronics giant is reportedly set to take the wraps off the latest Android N operating system on its devices during Christmas, according to reports on Yibada.
Huawei, on the other hand usually updates its devices with Android M one month after its release. The Chinese smartphone maker will reportedly update its Mate line in November 2016. Reports further hint that the Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei P9 are all set to get the update during December.
BlackBerry, however was slow with its Android M update. The popular Canadian telecommunication and wireless equipment company is more focused on getting Google's platform and enhancing the overall experience of using the software on its latest PRIV model. The company will reportedly roll out Android N to its BlackBerry phones by 2017.
Samsung took 5 months to unravel its first Android M update. After Android Marshmallow made its debut in September, the popular South Korean smartphone maker came up with its first update to the Verizon's Galaxy Note 5 in March 2016.
Samsung Galaxy S7 is reportedly scheduled to get the Android N update by 2017.
