FU Faculty Member Features In ‘Top 20 Nursing Professors in Ohio’

The top professors' list is given out by Statestats.org and is made up of individuals who have been awarded recently for contributions in the classroom/campus/community.
Prior to serving as a nursing industry expert, FU, Popovich was the director of development for Kaplan University's School of Nursing.
She started her professional career in nursing with Columbus Children's Hospital, where she worked to improve and strengthen children's needs in the emergency department for four years. Later, she shifted to adult emergency medicine in the hospital.
Popovich secured a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Chatham University. Her research topic was to improve stable patient flow through the Emergency Department at Nationwide Childrens Hospital.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Capital University and Master's of Science (MSc) in Nursing from Capital University.
Popovich's varied contributions to the medical field, include:
- Worked with a group of physicians to develop and implement a model for Chest Pain Centers during her MSc program.
- Trained a field team at Merck on a registry called TRACS, a data collection tool to evaluate and improve the care of the chest pain and cardiac patients.
- Also worked on a data collection system to support a new cardiac drug.
- Served as Director of Education and developed a series of policies and procedures for free standing clinics with both regulation and accreditation standards.
Due to her strong commitment to the field, Popovich earned a nomination for "Teacher of the year" in 2009. She is also known as a motivational, career building, and keynote speaker.
