AP Top 25 College Football Rankings 2015 Week 7: Voters Spread the Wealth at the Top
ByThere were a lot of wins among Top 25 teams this week, but voters for the Associated Press College Football Poll moved them around nonetheless.
TCU (3) beat Kansas State 52-45, but Baylor (2) beat Kansas 66-7, so they switched places in the seventh week of poll. Michigan State (7) beat Rutgers 31-24, it's second close call with a cellar-dweller in a row, so they dropped three places. Then there's Alabama (10), which dropped two places after beating Arkansas 27-14.
Ohio State (1) beat up on Maryland 49-28, but continued to steadily lose first-place votes, securing 27 this week after getting 38 a week ago. Baylor grabbed 13 first-place votes, but it was Utah (4) that had the second-most, with 16. TCU received three, and Clemson (5) and Texas A&M (9) each got one.
While the SEC is not currently occupying any of the top four positions in the poll, the conference makes up for four of the top 10 places, and LSU (6) and Florida (8) continued their climb. However, they play each other this week, which could mean a significant jump for the winner.
Also continuing to climb was Michigan (12), which completed its third consecutive shutout by blanking Northwestern (20) 38-0. Michigan is also in a position to make waves in the top half of the poll if it can knock off Michigan State at home this weekend.
Falling off the Top 25 this week were USC and Georgia. The Trojans suffered their second loss in three games, this time to unranked Washington at home, whereas the Bulldogs lost for the second consecutive week.
