Police have apprehended a shooter responsible for multiple killings on Umpqua Community College's (UCC) campus in Oregon Thursday morning.

According to KGW, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenbaum confirmed 13 people were killed, as was the shooter. Previous reports were unconfirmed, but estimated the death toll to be seven to 10 people, with at least 20 injured.

A UCC representative stated the first shots were fired in Snyder Hall around 10:40 a.m. The building has six to eight classrooms, but the shooting appears to have been contained to one room. CNN learned first reponders found victims in more than one classroom, and possibly in more than one building.

The Washington Post noted that some of the people injured died later in the day and that the death toll is currently unconfirmed. Mike Lane, assistant chief of the fire department in Roseburg, Ore., told the newspaper as many as 15 people may have been killed.

KATU.com is offering live coverage of the incident online. Authorities will apparently hold a press conference "around 1:30 p.m." (4:30 p.m. ET), anchors on the broadcast reported.

Shortly after 1 p.m., OregonLive.com reported, the Oregon State Police released the following statement:
