Apple's upcoming iPad Pro may not have Force Touch technology built into its 12.9-inch screen, but the company may have come up with a way to offer it as an option for users.

An analyst at KGI Securities with a reputation for accurate reports regarding everything Apple has not confirmed yet, Ming-Chi Kuo reported in a note that the company will sell separately a stylus that will give the iPad Pro Force Touch capabilities.

Apple Insider reported obtaining the note, in which Kuo states Apple will sell about a million styluses that will work via Bluetooth, versus 3.5 million 12.9-inch iPads. Kuo also supported rumors that the iPad Pro and the stylus will go into production in the fall and hit shelves in time for holiday shopping.

DigiTimes originally reported that the iPad Pro would "go into mass production in the fourth [quarter]."

But that report did not mention the stylus or Force Touch technology. Force Touch is pressure-sensitive and will allow users to give a wider array of commands. The technology is believed to be included with the upcoming iPhones and could well turn into a staple for Apple's mobile devices.

"We also believe a Force Touch-enabled stylus will enhance productivity as it would offer more precise operation than using only fingers," Kuo wrote in his note, according to Apple Insider. "Technically, we believe the stylus can be made compatible with iPad models other than the 12.9-inch version, but it depends on the support of software."
