The College Football Playoff (CFP) selection committee has released their final rankings and bowl pairings, with one final twist.

Going into the weekend ranked third, TCU fell three spots despite beating up Iowa State, as they were expected to do. Taking TCU's place in the top four was Ohio State (4), a team that won their conference championship with their third string quarterback.

As the defending champions and finishing a second straight undefeated season, Florida State (3) forced their way into the CFP semifinal. Meanwhile, Alabama (1) and Oregon (2) won their respective conference championships to stay atop the rankings.

"We have two outstanding playoff semifinals which will set the stage for a dynamic national championship game," Jeff Long, CFP selection committee chair, said in a press release.
