One of the many big games this Saturday is likely to have implications for both the Big 12 and College Football Playoff (CFP) when the TCU Horned Frogs (6) visit the Kansas State Wildcats (7).

At 5-0 in the conference, Kansas State leads TCU and Baylor, who are both 4-1, and would be able to leapfrog their opponent this weekend in the CFP rankings if they can win. TCU will try to move into one of the coveted top four spots while aiming for the Big 12 title with a fairly soft remaining schedule beyond Saturday.

Trevone Boykin has led one of the most explosive offenses in the nation, which is averaging 335 yards per game through the air and 48 points per game. Boykin has been a lethal dual-threat quarterback, throwing for 2,472 yards and 22 touchdowns while running for 423 yards and four scores.

"I'm a happy camper. They have to come to our house," TCU head football coach Gary Patterson said ahead of the game, according to ESPN. "Because of our mindset, this will be a different team than they have played the last two years. Both of us can play ground and pound or play action. It's a different animal."

Kansas State is averaging 38 points per game, though the offense has not been as electric. With a defense allowing an average of 18 points per game, Kansas State will have their biggest in-conference test facing Boykin.

The Wildcats will also have a tough time defending their undefeated conference record, as they are scheduled to play West Virginia (20) and Baylor (12) on the road. Since the Big 12 does not have a championship game, either Kansas State or TCU will likely have to win out to hope to make the CFP.
