Lindsay Lohan has filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the makers of the popular video game series Grand Theft Auto for allegedly using her image without permission, The San Jose Mercury News reported.

The "Mean Girls" star claims that the latest installment of the series appropriated her image and created a character based on her without her consent. Lohan's lawsuit was filed in a Manhattan court.

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., Grand Theft Auto V game maker, and subsidiary Rockstar Games declined to comment.

Grand Theft Auto V was released in September, with sales topping more than $800 million on its first day.

The 28-year-old actress' suit states that a character named Lacey Jonas is an "unequivocal" reference to Lohan. The star's image, voice and styles from her clothing line are depicted. The suit claims that the violent game features the West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel, where Lohan once lived.

The suit also alleges that Take-Two Interactive used Lohan's name without her permission to promote the fifth installment of the Grand Theft Auto series, announcing "to the general public and media venues that the game features a mission where the plaintiff's look-alike asks another character to take her home and escape the paparazzi," according to The San Jose Mercury News.

Furthermore, Lohan claims that the video game's cover, which features a curvaceous blonde woman in a red bikini taking a selfie and flashing a peace sign, is similar to a picture of Lohan doing the same thing in a pick two-piece.

The suit uses the cover as an example of how the game "incorporate her likeness, clothing, outfits, clothing line products, ensemble in the form of hats, hair style, sunglasses, jean shorts worn by (Lohan) ... before the release of the GTA V video game."

Lohan has been crafting this lawsuit shortly after the fifth edition of the violent video game was released last fall.
