The Cleveland Cavaliers' decision at the top of the NBA Draft just got a lot tougher, as reports are surfacing that Joel Embiid's foot may be broken.

Embiid's agent and mentor both confirmed to ESPN's Andy Katz that Embiid hurt his foot, but the type of injury is still unclear. Embiid was believed to be the frontrunner for the Cavs' first overall pick, but the injury could complicate the matter.

The Cavs had just hosted Embiid in Cleveland to examine a back issue that gave him trouble toward the end of his one and only season at Kansas. Embiid was supposed to work out for the Milwaukee Bucks later this week, but that is likely going to be called off, pending the extent of the injury.

"He suffered a foot injury to his right foot sometime over the last few days,'' Arn Tellem, Embiid's agent, told ESPN Thursday. "He's getting evaluations from various doctors and experts in the field. We'll know more Friday.''

The seven-foot center is a rare prospect and was a surprise breakout at Kansas. While the draft is full of athletic swingmen like Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker, the other two of the likely top three picks, there is no one like Embiid. The Cameroon native showed talent at both ends of the court, averaging 11 points, eight rebounds and nearly three blocks per game for the Jayhawks.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Embiid's mentor, is oversees currently and heard nothing about the seriousness of the injury.

"I just heard he got hurt," Mbah a Moute told ESPN.

Unnamed sources said Embiid's medical exam went well with the Cavs and some experts saw that as a sign they would take the seven-foot center first overall. The Cavs will now have to wait to learn the details of Embiid's injury before settling on their pick. The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly interested in taking Wiggins and would be willing to trade up to the first pick to take him.
