Elin Nordegren Talks of Marriage to Tiger in Outstanding Graduating Senior Address At Rollins College Commencement (VIDEO)
ByElin Nordegren finally finished her psychology degree at Rollins College and was offered the chance to speak during commencement for holding a 3.96 GPA.
According to the Washington Post, Tiger Woods' ex-wife was also chosen as the outstanding graduating senior for her real-life experiences. She also used her chance to speak to take some jabs at the world famous golfer.
"When I entered my student advisor office in the fall of 2005, I was 25 years old, I had just recently moved to America, I was married without children," Nordegren, 34, said in her address. "Today, nine years later, I'm a proud American, and I have two beautiful children-but I'm no longer married."
Her remark was met with laughter and applause, but Nordegren and Woods are not exactly estranged. Since their divorce in 2010, Nordegren is now dating a billionaire mining entrepreneur named Chris Cline and Woods is with world-class skier Lindsey Vonn.
Last month, US Weekly reported Nordegren and Vonn have developed their own friendship since the latter was bound to be spending time with the former's kids. During a Honda Classic golf tournament in late Feb., Vonn was even spotted sitting Sam and Charlie, Woods' two children with Nordegren.
Nordegren went from becoming well-known in the golf world to a national celebrity when Woods was exposed as a sex addict who had been cheating profusely on his ex-wife. She said she was in a class that focused on the media when the scandal became public.
Unsurprisingly, Woods and Vonn were not at the commencement ceremony, but her father, Cline and her children were.
"It was right after I had taken [a class in] communications and the media that I was unexpectedly thrust into the media limelight," she said in her address, "and I probably should have taken more notes in that class."
