Bottom of the ninth, tie game, two outs and bases loaded, in other words, the situation every hitter dreams of. That is, until the other team's left fielder ruins it.

LSU edged the Texas A&M Aggies Friday night on the road, but not before the Tigers' left fielder made one of the greatest catches of the year thus far. The Aggies came back from down 4-0 to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases loaded, Blake Allemand hit a line drive to left that looked like it would end the game. Enter Jared Foster:

According to an LSU news release, the Tigers' Andrew Stevenson hit a leadoff double in the top of the 10th inning and later scored the go-ahead run. LSU reliever Joe Broussard put runners on first and second with no one out before the Tigers turned to the bullpen once again. Kurt McCune earned the save and LSU won the game 5-4.

"There were a lot of amazing plays in this game that contributed to a very important win for our team," LSU coach Paul Mainieri said in the release. "Foster's catch was unbelievable, Stevenson used his tremendous speed to give us the lead again, and the veteran Kurt McCune was so poised and confident in a very difficult situation. To win a game like this after giving up a four-run lead in the ninth is a testament to the character of our players."

The team almost could not make their game Friday night. WAFB reported the team's charter plane had to return to Baton Rouge airport after taking off because a mechanical failure prevented the plane from entering cruising altitude.

The team left a night later than they wanted to, but the team almost had a real scare. Mainieri said the plane circled the airport about 30 times to burn off fuel to lessen the plane's weight, but it landed and everyone on board was fine.
