NCAA Women's National Championship 2014 LIVE Stream: UConn and Notre Dame Meet in Epic Showdown of Unbeatens
ByUConn's Storrs campus is itching for an excuse to celebrate two basketball champions in as many days, but an unbeaten foe stands in the way, threatening the school's feat.
The UConn Huskies (1) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1) meet Tuesday night in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for the women's basketball NCAA Tournament National Championship game.

At 39-0 UConn can become the second team to ever finish a season 40-0, but it would also be Geno Auriemma's fifth undefeated season. On the other sideline will be Muffet McGraw, who will lead a Notre Dame team that has beaten the Huskies seven times in the two team's last nine meetings.
"I think it's something that everyone's looked forward to all year long," McGraw told reporters, according to the Associated Press. "People were hoping we would end up here. It's great for the game and I think it's great we're both undefeated coming into it. It should be a great matchup for women's basketball."
Auriemma is currently tied with Pat Summit, the retired coach of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, with eight National Championships.
"I'm not a numbers guy and don't get caught up in that stuff," Auriemma said ahead of the game, according to the AP. "Wednesday morning when I wake up, my life doesn't change one iota. Stewie (Breanna Stewart) says she came to win four national championships, that's what I think is more significant. For Bria (Hartley) and Stef (Dolson) to win a national championship their senior years. They get 'X' amount of chances to do it. God willing, I'll get more chances down the road."
There is also an unmistakable lack of "civility" between the two coaches, adding even more intrigue to Tuesday night's contest.
"We don't have a relationship," McGraw said of Auriemma. "I think that (the civility) got lost. When we were in the same conference, I think there was a modicum of it but I think after beating them and not feeling any respect from that, we lost something."
Now in the ACC, Notre Dame and UConn, now in the AAC, shared an epic Big East rivalry, but now the teams hardly play anymore. Auriemma said a rivalry like that is hard to forget, even when the teams change conferences.
"Once you play each other two, three, four times a year it gets pretty intense for lots of reasons," Auriemma said. "It's only natural. It will probably die down now that we're not in same conference and we play each other once a year, maybe two. What was happening before wasn't realistic, that's not normal. It's not healthy."
