I'm glad I wasn't the first one to break the Jacksonville Jaguars story (even if I'm never the one to break a news story) about their impending acquisition of the world's largest LED HD television screens, to be fixed behind both end zones. Two of the first three outlets on the beat couldn't resist a Jaguars jab in their reporting. I probably would have done the same. From a distance, however, I realize the error of those ways. Even if I won a survivor pool by almost exclusively betting against them, to be fair they won four games (three in a row at one point), covered a record twenty-something point spread, had a so-so defense, and sported one of the more exciting receiving corps in the game. They don't have the worst prospects heading into next season, especially in the AFC South.

The Jaguars' new giant screens -- each bigger than the one hanging over the Dallas Cowboys playing field and large enough to cover the entire field, if laid side by side -- were made possible by a partnership with Daktronics, according to Digital Signage Today, or the one report that chose not to bushwhack the home team in the process.

"As the construction takes shape, we can all envision what an impact this will have on EverBank Field and the game-day experience," Jags owner Shahid Khan said. "And that was one of the reasons from the beginning for embarking on this ambitious project. We want EverBank Field to be a world-class destination, and we want to bring energy and attention to Downtown Jacksonville. Our goal is to offer best-in-class amenities and the best in-stadium experience for our fans and for everyone who visits Jacksonville and EverBank Field."
