Troy University has recently been designated as a Carnegie Research University (RCU), a recognition that underscores the institution's growing commitment to research and development. This new classification aims to acknowledge the research endeavors of smaller institutions that meet specific funding criteria.

To qualify for the RCU status, an institution must allocate at least $2.5 million annually, on average, to research and development activities. Troy University is among 218 institutions that have achieved this designation.

Dr. Kerry Palmer, Senior Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Troy University, expressed pride in this accomplishment, stating, "Achieving Carnegie Research University status is a remarkable recognition of TROY's commitment to advancing research and development. This designation highlights the strides we've made in securing substantial funding for groundbreaking initiatives, positioning us alongside the nation's top research institutions."

This recognition reflects Troy University's dedication to fostering a robust research environment and its efforts to contribute meaningfully to various fields of study.
