US Universities are receiving flak over antisemitic incidents, with the University of Rochester bringing the latest headline on the said topic.

Reports stated that there were hundreds of 'Wanted' posters across the campus late Sunday night, causing outrage among students, faculties, and staff.

ABC News Go detailed that these posters were meant to target several members of the university, many of which are believed to be Jewish. The posters were placed on walls, chalkboards, and other campus structures.

University President Sarah Mangelsdorf condemned the action and denounced these acts as antisemitism. She emphasized that this goes against the values of the university and they will commit to supporting students, especially those in the Jewish community,

Removing Wanted Posters of Jewish Students

The issue extended into school infrastructures as removing the posters caused damages to the property due to the strong adhesive used. This included initially flawless chalkboards and walls. While facilities staff worked hard to remove the materials, the Department of Public Safety described it as a painstaking activity due to the extent of damage.

Currently, the university is launching an investigation to find those responsible for placing the posters around the campus.

The university's Jewish student organization expressed strong disapproval of the incident and confirmed that many of those in Wanted posters were Jewish faculty and staff members. The organization, called Hillel, echoed Mangelsdorf's sentiments and called for action to ensure the safety and well-being of the Jewish community on campus.

Local law enforcement in New York will also join the investigation to prevent further acts of hatred against the group.
