California College Cancels Classes Day After Employee Shot on Campus
The unidentified victim remains hospitalized

Santa Monica police responded to the scene of the shooting outside Santa Monica College Center for Media and Design at approximately 9:50 p.m., according to KTLA, adding that video from the scene showed a victim being taken by gurney to an ambulance.
The school confirmed that the victim of the shooting was an employee of the school.
"At this time, we have confirmed that one employee has been shot. Law enforcement is actively searching for a suspect," the college stated.
The campus was closed on Tuesday as police investigate the incident. The unidentified victim is hospitalized, and in unknown condition as of Tuesday morning.
Students were urged to avoid the area, and employees were asked to work from home if possible.
