New York College Student Admits to Spreading Anti-Semitic 'Art Canvases' Around Campus, Police Say
The student admitted to leaving the remarks around campus after police confronted him in his dorm room
ByA Hamilton College student has been accused of leaving antisemitic remarks written on art canvases across campus, authorities said on Monday.
Adyn S. Brendon, 19, from South Dakota, was identified as a suspect after authorities conducted interviews and reviewed video surveillance following a report of "anti-Semitic remarks being posted on art canvasses" across campus.
Brendon admitted to posting the remarks when the authorities spoke with him in his dorm room on Saturday. He was taken into custody on a count of first-degree aggravated harassment, according to The New York State Troopers.
"There remains no threat against students or faculty at Hamilton College," officials said.
Hamilton College has suspended Brendon from entering the school campus pending a dismissal review. He is set to appear at Kirkland Town Court on Tuesday evening.
The arrest comes after Hamilton College's Center for Jewish Life held a vigil on account of the first anniversary of Hamas' terror attack on Israel on Oct.7, according to the Spectator.
