Keanan Odom Jr. turned himself in on Aug. 15, according to a statement from the Durham Police Department.

Odom faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He is currently being held in the Durham County jail under a $250,000 secured bond.

The incident occurred on April 25 when police responded to a car crash in the 11000 block of Rose Garden Lane. They found Gresham, the driver, with a fatal gunshot wound. His car had collided with two parked vehicles in the area. Gresham was pronounced dead at the scene, just days before he was set to graduate.

Gresham was actively involved in campus life and served as treasurer of the Metro Eagles Club, according to NCCU Chancellor Johnson O. Akinleye.

"Myles, originally from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was a dedicated student with entrepreneurial aspirations. He diligently selected his courses each semester, aiming for a path toward future success," he said in a statement following Gresham's death.
