The search continues for an American University student, who was reported missing on Sunday by friends who say they lost contact with him on Thursday.
Kris Emmanuel Estrada, 19, was last seen near a Wagshal's market on New Mexico Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., on Thursday around 4:45 p.m., according to a flyer posted on social media. His last reported location was Rockville, Maryland, at 5:30 p.m. the same day.
Estrada told his friends he would return by Thursday night, according to the flyer, but never showed. The post described Estrada as 5 feet 4 inches tall with brown eyes and dark brown hair between 120 and 130 pounds.
Vice President of Student Affairs Raymond Ou and Assistant Vice President of University Police Service and Emergency Management Phil Morse told the university's student newspaper The Eagle that they were aware of "unconfirmed reports about a student potentially missing" and would "collect information and determine the facts of the matter."
"We are hoping this post is only temporary and that our brother comes home soon, but in the meantime please save, screenshot, and share this information as widely as you can," Nolan Lee, Estrada's roommate, said in an Instagram post.
Estrada's friends are asking people with information about his whereabouts to contact the university police department at 202-885-2527.
