The Iowa Hawkeyes (20) have not had too much time to dwell on their Tuesday loss to Minnesota by visiting Assembly Hall to face the Indiana Hoosiers.

This is the first time this season that Iowa has lost consecutive games and the lack of time between their loss and next game is likely what they need. With the Big Ten lead all but out of reach, Iowa will try to keep their NCAA Tournament bid alive.

"It's a quick turnaround," point guard Mike Gessell told reporters, according to ESPN. "That's the beauty of basketball. You have a tough night like this and you get another chance to prove yourself right away."

Iowa has played offense well and rebounded effectively at both ends of the court, but the 95-89 loss to Minnesota highlighted the Hawkeyes' defensive weakness.

"We can blame our defense if we want to, but at some point you have to respect your opponent and say, 'You know what? Richard had a good game plan. They executed it. They moved it. They got open, and they made the shots. More power to 'em,'" coach Fran McCaffrey told reporters, according to ESPN.

Indiana has lost four of their last five and are 5-9 against the Big Ten. Including Iowa, three of their last four opponents are nationally ranked. Like their opponents Thursday night, Indiana has struggled holding other offenses down despite strong scoring of their own.

"It's a 40-minute game, and there's other teams around the country that lose some leads, too," coach Tom Crean told reporters, according to ESPN. "Unfortunately we've lost a couple of those, but the other teams are pretty good. That's one of the reasons when you are at home and they have the guys that can shoot the ball that way, it becomes an issue."
