The Arizona Wildcats (3) have all but locked up their Pac-12 lead, but the California Golden Bears can still conceivably take the title if they start their stretch run with a win.

Cal is currently three games off the conference lead with four games left to play including Wednesday night's contest against Arizona. The Wildcats, however, will try to avenge their first loss of the season.

Both of Arizona's two losses this year are on the road, compared to 16 home wins this season and 20 straight dating back to last season. The Feb. 1 loss to Cal was even more damaging as they lost forward Brandon Ashley for the season with a foot injury.

"I believe we still can get better because we haven't had a lot of time playing without Brandon," coach Sean Miller told reporters, according to ESPN.

Three games after the Cal loss, Arizona lost on the road to in-state rival Arizona State before surviving in overtime against Utah in a slim win.

"We learned a lot in the Arizona State game," said Miller. "From that game on, I think we have a more clear direction of what our team needs to do to be the best we can."

For the Pac-12 tournament, the top four teams earn a first-round bye and the Golden Bears are fourth in the conference, holding a one-game lead over Colorado. They are tied at 9-5 with Stanford, but sit one game behind UCLA.

"I mean a lot of things can happen," senior guard Ricky Kreklow told reporters, "and we just have to go out and win every game we can and put ourselves in the best position at the end of the night."

Cal last beat a ranked opponent on the road on Jan. 9 in Oregon, but have won three straight such games dating back to last season.
