Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles baseball team are ready to take on the New York Yankees in a spring exhibition game.

For the Seminoles, the game is a break from their regular season, in which they are 6-0 and ranked second in the nation. For the Yankees, it is their first live game action of the spring.

"I think I'm going to be a little starstruck," Winston told ESPN.

The Heisman Trophy winning quarterback who led the Seminoles to an undefeated season and National Championship victory also said the Yankees are his favorite team. if Winston, who is the baseball team's closer, does get to pitch, it will not be to Derek Jeter or any of the new high-priced additions.

Both Hall Of Fame closer Goose Gossage and Yankee manager Joe Girardi are hoping to Winston pitch in the game.

"I'm looking forward to seeing him," Gossage told ESPN.

"It'll be fun," Girardi told MLB.com. "Obviously, he's extremely athletic. When you watch him play the game of football, he's got a great arm."

Winston may also enter the game as a pinch hitter and play in the outfield. The Heisman winning QB wants to play professional football and baseball.
