The man who was driving the Jet Ski that killed R&B singer Usher's 11-year-old stepson has been found guilty of homicide by vessel, The Associated Press reported.

Kile Glover, son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, was riding on an inner tube on Georgia's Lake Lanier with a 15-year-old girl when they were struck by Jeffrey Simon Hubbard's personal watercraft in July 2012, The AP reported.

Glover, who was wearing a life preserver, was unresponsive when he was pulled from the lake and never regained consciousness. He suffered brain damage and died two weeks later at the Children's Healthcare at Egleston in Atlanta. The crash killed left the girl severely injured.

Hubbard, 40, was also found guilty of serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and a boat traffic violation.

Hubbard, a family friend, was arrested March 1, 2013, after being indicted by a grand jury. His attorney's argues that what happened was a tragic accident and he tried to avoid the children.

"At the end of the day, I know he didn't do it on purpose," Foster told Channel 2 Action News. "He could've only loved Kile."

Hubbard's sentencing is set for next month.
