The 35th Annual Late Night at the Phog was held last Friday, October 4, at the Allen Fieldhouse in the University of Kansas. As part of this yearly gathering of collegiate basketball athletes and fans, a celebrity guest graced the night with yet another memorable performance. This time around it was Snoop Dogg's turn to heat up the stage with an exciting number. However, it did raise a lot of eyebrows when he brought in pole dancers, a mascot smoking what seems like weed, a money gun shooting out fake $100 bills and profane rap music.

KU officials and Coach Bill Self denounced the show and said: "Regardless of the entertainment that it provided many, it was still not the right way to provide the entertainment." Coach Self added that he was not feeling well and stayed in the locker room during the majority of Snoop Dogg's performance. The rap artist wore a Kansas No. 20 jersey with sexy acrobat dancers and back-up rappers, all of which were allegedly a surprise to the coach and organizers. Reportedly, there were kids and minors who attended the event so it caused Kansas Athletics Director, Jeff Long, to issue a public apology for what had transpired.

Long explained in an official statement, "We apologize for the Snoop Dogg performance at Late Night. We made it clear to the entertainers' managers that we expected a clean version of the show..." According to them they took steps to inform their fans, even moving the final act to the last part, so that the basketball game itself will not be missed by those who don't want to stay for the concert. They claim to have been surprised as well that the show turned out that way. Long expressed full responsibility for not making sure that all the arrangements were followed to the dot. According to Long, the try to keep a family-oriented atmosphere at KU and that night was far from it.

Some of KU's students reacted on social media expressing that the event management should have expected the kind of show Snoop Dogg would deliver considering the rapper's reputation and explicit taste in music. Some parents also expressed their disappointment towards the university administration knowing that the school's basketball program recently received 5 NCAA level 1 violation.

Following the said incident at KU, Snoop Dogg redeemed his side of the story when he was interviewed at The Howard Stern Show. He expressed, "The audience enjoyed that. I don't know what they were talking about." As far as the entertainer is concerned he gave them the best show that all Snoop Dogg fans deserve and expect.

Stern continued to ask the rap mogul if there was any truth about him being asked to leave after the show. Snoop said that it was all a lie, in fact he hung out with the basketball players and really enjoyed the night. There is a disparity in the two party's comments and we know that Snoop Dogg will definitley stick to his.
