Bethesda has finally confirmed that the sequel for "The Evil Within" is happening. They also announced during the E3 conference that it will have an a Friday the 13th release in October. They did not give more info more than that but there are leaks that got past Bethesda.

The first "Evil Within" was released in 2014 and received critical acclaim for its unique gameplay and storyline. It has the elements of the classic survival games, like "Resident Evil, " and a more up-to-date third person action elements.

The story revolves around Detective Sebastian Castellanos who found himself battling frightening enemies. This time, he returns faced with a more daunting responsibility and more fearsome enemies.

The trailer during the E3 conference showed Castellanos trying to save his daughter from a burning house. But even before he came close, he was pulled into a place of nightmares and discovered the dark that is lurking in the seemingly idyllic town.

Based on the trailer, the story becomes darker and more twisted. But just like its predecessor, players have the choice how to deal with their enemies. As the description says, players can either use stealth or face the enemy head-on with weapons and traps.

Shinji Minakami Returns

Bethesda did not say whether Minakami returns to direct the game again or not. However, there were leaks that he will come back as the director of the sequel. NeoGAF and Reddit users posted them hours before Bethesda announced the "Evil Within 2."

There might be reason to dispel these as just rumors. However, another earlier rumor - that the game is already accepting pre-orders - was confirmed during Bethesda's E3 conference. So based on this, there is a big possibility that Minakami indeed is part of the second installation of the game. If this were true, fans will surely be delighted.
