Many people were awed when they hear stories of students get accepted to every Ivy League school they applied to. What makes these students exceptional since everybody knows for a fact how difficult it is to enter into just one of these elite universities?
Some of the students who got accepted into all Ivy League universities are Augusta Umawanzu-Nna, Kelly Hyles, Ifeoma White-Thorpe, and Harold Ekeh. Each of these students shares some of their 'secrets' how they were able to do what they did.
Kelly Hyles did not just get accepted to all Ivy League schools. In fact, she received 21 acceptance letters from around the country. When asked what her secret was, one of the things she said was that grades are not everything. She said how she heard stories of people who got amazing grades yet got rejected from their dream schools. Instead, students need to be well-rounded and get involved in other activities that would develop them as a whole person.
Augusta Umawanzu-Nna got accepted to all 12 schools she applied to and chose Harvard. For her, success was a product of teamwork effort that involves not only her hard work but also the support of her school and family. She said without the help of her parents and her school, she wouldn't have reached her full potential.
Harold Ekeh got accepted to all eight schools in 2015 and chose Yale to become a neurosurgeon. Ekeh, who was born in Nigeria, moved to the United States with his family when he was eight. When he came to school for the first time in America, he struggled with his accent but he persevered and used his parents as an inspiration who taught him not to let any obstacles get in his way.
Ifeoma White-Thorpe got accepted this year to all Ivy League schools. Although she hasn't chosen which school to go to, she hopes to become a cardiologist someday. Thorpe's high school principal, Todd Toriello, describes her as someone who constantly challenges herself to the rigorous coursework. Also, he described her as someone who understands the importance of giving back.
