GoPro Hero 6 is reportedly ready for launch later this year and it could be an impressive camera with revamped features including multi-lens and VR capable.

GoPro Hero 6 Specifications

After the launch of GoPro Hero 5, the path has not gone pretty smooth for the company. With the recall of its Karma Drone, GoPro is expected to right all the wrongs this year with GoPro Hero 6.

This year, GoPro will launch the sixth generation of GoPro Hero camera with cutting-edge features. Reports have hinted at a virtual reality capability for the Hero 6. It is reported that GoPro is developing a new way to capture 360-degree video with multi-lens camera. This feature along with the VR-ready lens, will enable spherical video shots that look as vibrant as the reality, PC Advisor reported.

It is plausible for GoPro Hero 6 to have new accessories sold separately on the launch. Another interesting evidence suggests that GoPro Inc., is developing its own system on a chip that will reportedly be used in GoPro Hero 6. That said, the device will be able to have a custom set of specs where advanced features squeezed inside.

In addition to that, GoPro Hero 6 is expected to debut sometime in the second half of 2017. Judging from the previous pattern - the company has missed a few of its supposedly shipping schedules. Thus, it is safe to assume that it could happen again this time.

GoPro Hero 5 Deals

Meanwhile, those who cannot wait for the GoPro Hero 6 launch later this year, GoPro is now making the fifth gen camera a lot cheaper. GoPro Hero 5 now sells for $300. This is $100 cheaper than the regular price, Variety reported.

Generally, a discounted old product means a new one is coming but the speculation should be taken with a grain of salt and whether the rumors on VR-ready, multi-lens camera will come to fruition or not, it remains to be seen.
