The Surface Phone is Microsoft's long-awaited, desperately needed device. The Microsoft Build Developer Conference, which will transpire on May 10 - 12, 2017, would be the perfect event where the tech titan could finally unveil its highly anticipated Surface Phone.

The Microsoft Build Developer Conference would be the perfect event where the tech giant could finally put all Surface Phone speculations and rumors to rest. If Microsoft gives an official statement about its upcoming Surface Phone, the Redmond, Washington based tech titan would be able to stoke the fire of interest for its upcoming flagship handset, Windows Central reported.

Although an exact Surface Phone release date cannot be pinpointed, several reports are suggesting a Surface Phone fall launch, which will coincide with the release of the other flagship smartphones like Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 and Apple's iPhone 8. The Microsoft Surface Phone is anticipated to pave the way for the Windows Phone OS to rain blows on Android and iOS. Nonetheless, Microsoft would release more details about the Surface Phone in the months leading up to September 2017.

In spite of that, the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone is anticipated to boast a radical design. Wherein, Microsoft's new patent includes a handset that features multiple flexible hinges. The tech giant is considering to roll out a device that could work both as a tablet and a smartphone, according to Learn Bonds.

Microsoft's much-awaited flagship smartphone is expected to come in three versions. The base model of the Surface Phone will be available with a 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of internal storage. The mid-range variant of the Surface Phone is said to come along with a 6GB of RAM and a 128GB of internal storage.

All of the Surface Phone variants will boast a 20MP rear shooter with a Carl Zeiss lens. That being said, the tech company has neither denied nor confirmed if the Surface Phone is in the works.
